We’re pleased to share that planning consent has been secured for a new block of 14 flats on Danecourt Road, Poole.
We were brought onto the project following two previous refusals. Working closely with Darryl Howells and our client Jason Hacker of Beechvale Construction, we developed a concept that not only maximised the development potential of the site but also directly addressed the earlier refusal reasons.
A key design move was to consolidate the previous proposal for two separate blocks into a single block with a single core. This approach maintained a similar level of accommodation while creating generous separation to the neighbouring properties.
The building’s massing and siting have been carefully designed to respond to the site’s natural levels and to complement the surrounding context – stepping sympathetically between the 2.5-storey flats to the west and the detached chalet to the east.
Although the planning process proved challenging, we’re delighted to have reached a successful outcome.
As always, central to our approach was the use of a detailed 3D site model, which played a vital role in demonstrating the proposal’s relationship to its setting.
