We have gained planning consent for an Eco Pavilion, located at the base of Hambledon Hill and set within a beautiful walled garden.
The site enjoys stunning long-distance views across the rolling Dorset hills, with the walled garden providing the perfect setting for a more intimate south facing amenity.
The site lies within the Blackmore Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it was therefore important to balance creative ideas, with a sensitive solution which blends effortlessly with the surrounding landscape.
The pavilion is organised with a central living space as the principal focus, with support and more private spaces located around this. The structure is set away from the existing walled enclosure, with all rooms enjoying an intimate and framed view. Large format glazing is introduced across the southern elevation with a sheltered terraced formed in front to reduce the spread of light, heat gain, whilst providing an external space which can be enjoyed all year round.
From the outset the structure has been designed to meet Passive House standards and has been developed in close collaboration with specialist consultants.
